Holotype was designated on p. 198 of the original publication (Brembach 1991 [ref. 20227]). •Synonym of Dermogenys siamensis Fowler 1934 -- (Meisner 2001:227 [ref. 25599], Collette 2004:16 [ref. 27583], Kottelat 2013:293 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Dermogenys siamensis Fowler 1934. Zenarchopteridae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.

Syntypes: ZMA 112571 (13). •Synonym of Dermogenys sumatrana (Bleeker 1854) -- (Meisner 2001:229 [ref. 25599], Collette 2004:16 [ref. 27583], Kottelat 2013:293 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Dermogenys sumatrana (Bleeker 1854). Zenarchopteridae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.

burmanicus, Dermogenys Mukerji [D. D.] 1935:213, Figs. 1-2 [Records of the Indian Museum (Calcutta) v. 37 (pt 2); ref. 13905] Myagaing village, Kyaukatan township, Hanthawaddy district, Myanmar. Syntypes: ZSI F 11778/1 (male), F 11780/1 (female). Type catalog: Menon & Yazdani 1968:136 [ref. 20743] incorrectly list 4 paratypes as F 11779/1. Only two specimens were designated as types in the original description. See Das 2003:350 [ref. 27706]. •Synonym of Dermogenys pusillus [sic pusilla] van Hasselt 1823 -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:732 [ref. 20764]). •Valid as Dermogenys burmanica Mukerji 1935 -- (Brembach 1991:155 [ref. 20227] as burmanicus, Meisner 2001:219 [ref. 25599], Collette 2004:15 [ref. 27583], Kottelat 2013:293 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Valid as Dermogenys burmanica Mukerji 1935. Zenarchopteridae. Distribution: Myanmar and Bangladesh. Habitat: freshwater.

Type information: Roberts 1993:34 [ref. 21799]. Also in van Hasselt 1824:374 [ref. 5964]. Regarded as available, see Alfred 1961:85 [ref. 20553], Kottelat 1987:370 [ref. 5962]. Originally as pusillus, but correct spelling is Dermogenys pusilla. Neotype designated by Meisner 2001:226 [ref. 25599]. •Valid as Dermogenys pusillus Kuhl & van Hasselt 1823 -- (Roberts 1989:154 [ref. 6439], Ataur Rahman 1989:60 [ref. 24860] as pussilus, Brembach 1991:165 [ref. 20227], Talwar & Jhingran 1991:732 [ref. 20764], Kottelat et al. 1993:84 [ref. 23448], Roberts 1993:34 [ref. 21799], Rainboth 1996:173 [ref. 22772], Vu & Nguyen 1997:27 [ref. 26438]). •Valid as Dermogenyus pusilla Kuhl & van Hasselt 1823 -- (Ng & Tan 1999:363 [ref. 24159], Meisner 2001:224 [ref. 25599], Ataur Rahman 2003:75 [ref. 31338] as pusilus, Collette 2004:15 [ref. 27583], Grinang & Lim 2004:291 [ref. 28551], Kottelat 2013:293 [ref. 32989], Hasan et al. 2022:6035 [ref. 39888]).
