schoenleinii, Labrax Peters [W. (C. H.)] 1865:95 [Monatsberichte der Königlichen Preussischen Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Berlin 1865; ref. 20422] Sulawesi, Indonesia (apparently in error). Holotype: ZMB 29. •Synonym of Dicentrarchus punctatus (Bloch 1792) -- (Daget & Smith 1986:301 [ref. 6204]). Current status: Synonym of Dicentrarchus punctatus (Bloch 1792). Moronidae. Habitat: brackish, marine.

vaila, Perca Osbeck [P.] 1770:102 [Nova Acta Physico-Medica Academiae Caesareae Leopoldina-Carolinae Naturae Curiosorum v. 4; ref. 18497] No types known. Name also appeared in Walbaum 1792:329 [ref. 4572] in the account of Perca labrax. Perca vaila Osbeck 1770 is a senior synonym of Sciaena punctata Bloch 1792, but the older name is a nomen oblitum (forgotten name). •In the synonymy of Dicentrarchus punctatus (Bloch 1792) -- (Parenti et al. 2013:306 [ref. 32762]). Nomen Oblitum. Current status: Synonym of Dicentrarchus punctatus (Bloch 1792). Moronidae. Habitat: brackish, marine.
