W.] 1890:297 [Annals and Magazine of Natural History (Series 6) v. 6 (no. 34); ref. 83] About 75 miles west of Goa coast, Arabian Sea, 15°02'N, 72°34'E, Investigator station 105, depth 740 fathoms. Holotype: ZSI F12862. Type catalog: Menon & Rama Rao 1971:344 [ref. 31198], Menon & Rama-Rao 1975:41 [ref. 22148]. Also based on Dicrolene introniger of Vaillant 1888:258-262, Pl. 23 (fig. 2) [ref. 4496]. •Valid as Dicrolene vaillanti (Alcock 1890) -- (Nielsen & Cohen in Nielsen et al. 1999:62 [ref. 24448]). Current status: Valid as Dicrolene vaillanti (Alcock 1890). Ophidiidae: Neobythitinae. Distribution: Indian Ocean. Habitat: marine.
