Current status: Valid as Doras carinatus (Linnaeus 1766). Doradidae: Doradinae. Distribution: Essequibo River basin and other coastal drainages to mouth of Amazon River: Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname and Venezuela. Habitat: freshwater.
