Elassoma orlandicum Lönnberg 1894 is a senior synonym of E. okefenokee Böhlke 1956, but it has not been used as a valid name after 1899, so prevailing usage is maintained -- (see Gilbert 2004:2 [ref. 27602]). •Valid as Elassoma okefenokee Böhlke 1956 -- (Lee et al. 1980:585 [ref. 22416], Page & Burr 1991:257 [ref. 18983], Mayden 1993:10 [ref. 21162], Gilbert 1998:254 [ref. 23395], Jones & Quattro 1999:470 [ref. 23804], Quattro et al. 2001:514 [ref. 25237], Echelle & Echelle 2002:84 [ref. 27834], Gilbert 2004:2 [ref. 27602], Nelson et al. 2004:151 [ref. 27807], Scharpf 2009:3 [ref. 30400], Snelson et al. 2010:128 [ref. 30727], Page & Burr 2011:605 [ref. 31215], Page et al. 2013:155 [ref. 32708], Robins et al. 2018:306 [ref. 35886]). Current status: Valid as Elassoma okefenokee Böhlke 1956. Elassomatidae. Distribution: Southeastern U.S.A.: Georgia and Florida. Habitat: freshwater.

orlandicum, Elassoma evergladei Lönnberg [E.] 1894:123 [Öfversigt af Kongliga Vetenskaps-Akademiens förhandlingar, Kungliga Svenska Vetenskapsakademien. v. 51 (no. 3); ref. 23437] Ferncreek [=Fern Creek] and small lakes around Orlando, Orange County, Tohopekaliga and other waters around Kissimmee, Osceola County, and Arcadia, De Soto County, Florida, U.S.A. Lectotype: ZMUU 344a. Paralectotypes: NRM 9170 (3), 14105 (1), 106 (5); ZMUU 344j-s (10, okefenokee), 344b-i (8). Type catalog: Gilbert 1998:254-255 [ref. 23395], Wallin 1996:61 [ref. 32133]. According to Gilbert 2004:2-3 [ref. 27602], the type series contains specimens of okefenokee and evergladei, so lectotype designation was needed to fix this species, but a new related subspecies also is involved. Lectotype selected by Snelson et al. 2010:128 [ref. 30727] on Bailey and Böhlke manuscript. •Available senior synonym of Elassoma okefenokee Böhlke 1956 -- (Gilbert 1998:254-255 [ref. 23395]). •Synonym of Elassoma okefenokee Böhlke 1956 under prevailing usage -- (Gilbert 2004:2 [ref. 27602]). •Synonym of Elassoma evergladei Jordan 1884 after lectotype selection -- (Snelson et al. 2010:139 [ref. 30727]). Current status: Synonym of Elassoma evergladei Jordan 1884. Elassomatidae. Habitat: freshwater.
