Holotype (unique): whereabouts unknown. Also appeared in Bleeker 1871:85 [ref. 17075]. •Valid as Erythroculter hypselonotus (Bleeker 1871) -- (Yih & Wu 1964:105 [ref. 13499], Chen in Chu & Chen 1989:89 [ref. 13584], Zheng et al. 1989:105 [ref. 21202], Lu in Pan et al. 1991:90 [ref. 23876], Zhu 1995:40 [ref. 25213]). •Questionably a synonym of Culter dabryi Bleeker 1871 -- (Luo & Chen in Chen et al. 1998:194 [ref. 23878]). •See Kottelat 2001:18 [ref. 25482]. •Synonym of Chanodichthys dabryi (Bleeker 1871) -- (Kottelat 2013:86 [ref. 32989] with question). Based on Erythroculter hypselonotus of Lin 1934:621 [ref. 23133] which is based on 2 specimens and several literature sources. •Tentative synonym of Ancherythroculter daovantieni (Bănărescu 1967) -- (Kottelat 2001:18 [ref. 25482], Kottelat 2013:74 [re. 32989]). •Valid as Ancherythroculter lini Luo 1994 -- (Luo & Chen in Chen et al. 1998:153 [ref. 23878], Zhang et al. 2016:58 [ref. 34477]).
