Available from footnote as, "Cl. coval, N., Russ., 186, etc." Based on Russell 1803:70, known (Whitehead & Bauchot 1986:37 [ref. 9739]). •Questionably the same as Escualosa thoracata (Valenciennes 1847). •Status uncertain -- (Whitehead 1985:119 [ref. 5141]). •Synonym of Escualosa thoracata (Valenciennes 1847) -- (Munroe et al. 1999:1795 [ref. 24728], Kottelat 2013:60 [ref. 32989] with question). Current status: Synonym of Escualosa thoracata (Valenciennes 1847). Dorosomatidae. Habitat: brackish, marine.

huae, Clupea Tirant [G.] 1883:[29] [Bulletin de la Société des Études Indo-chinoises. Saigon. 1883; ref. 17920] Hué River, Vietnam. Syntypes: ?MGHNL 42000038 [ex 3651] (4). On p. 29 of reprint in Chevey 1929 [ref. 16215]. Original as huae but named for the city of Hué, Vietnam; emended by Chevey 1932:9 [ref. 23060] to hueensis. •Synonym of Escualosa thoracata (Valenciennes 1847) -- (Whitehead 1985:119 [ref. 5141] but dated to 1929, Munroe et al. 1999:1795 [ref. 24728]). •Tentatively valid as Chela huae (Tirant 1883) -- (Kottelat 1987:12, 21 [ref. 11434]). •Synonym of Chela laubuca (Hamilton 1822) -- (Kottelat 2001:42 [ref. 25780]). •In genus Laubuca -- (Fang et al. 2009:7 [ref. 29983]). •Synonym of Metzia lineata (Pellegrin 1907) -- (Kottelat 2013:123 [ref. 32989] wih question). Current status: Synonym of Metzia lineata (Pellegrin 1907). Xenocyprididae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
