Based on Pl. 6 (fig. 1) in Kirtland 1841, not Etheostoma blennioides Rafinesque; type specimen on which figure was based not found; single specimens in USNM 20137 and BMNH 1880.1.21.84 from White River, Indiana are not types but were collected and identified by Jordan (Collette & Knapp 1967:10 [ref. 20211]). •Synonym of Percina maculata (Girard 1859) -- (Page 1983:37 [ref. 22189]).
