Type catalog: Collette & Knapp 1967:29-30 [ref. 20211]. •Synonym of Etheostoma hopkinsi (Fowler 1945) -- (Page 1983:140 [ref. 22189]). •Synonym of Etheostoma hopkinsi (Fowler 1945), but a valid subspecies -- (Scharpf 2008:27 [ref. 30399]). Current status: Synonym of Etheostoma hopkinsi (Fowler 1945). Percidae: Etheostomatinae. Distribution: Savana River drainage, Georgia and South Carolina (U.S.A.) [binotatum subspecies]. Habitat: freshwater.
