ovak, Gadus Reinhardt [J. C. H.] 1837:115, 128 [33, 46] [Det Kongelige Danske videnskabernes selskabs naturvidenskabelige og mathematiske afhandlinger v. 7; ref. 3691] No types known. On pp. 33 & 46 of separate. Reinhardt refers to Fauna Groenlandica Nr. 103 (Fabricius 1780:146-147 [ref. 17464]), which is Gadus barbatus in that work (with a common name of "ogak" or "ovak"). •Synonym of Gadus ogac Richardson 1836 -- (Cohen in Cohen et al. 1990:47 [ref. 18936]).
