Paratypes: AMNH, AMS, BMNH 2010.4.19.347 (1), CAS, MZUSP, SAIAB, USNM. Plus additional non-type material. The species epithet was based on Eugene Trow Jr. and his father Eugene Trow Sr., the correct species epithet would be troworum according to ICZN Art. 31.1.2-3. •Valid as Galeichthys trowi Kulongowski 2010 -- (Kailola 2022:193 [ref. 39697], Marceniuk et al. 2023:6 [ref. 40422]). Current status: Valid as Galeichthys trowi Kulongowski 2010. Ariidae: Galeichthyinae. Distribution: Southwestern Indian Ocean: Eastern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa). Habitat: marine.
