Holotype: CAS 20671. Paratypes: (5) CAS 20672 (4). •Synonym of Gasteropelecus sternicla (Linnaeus 1758) -- (Weitzman 1960:223 [ref. 9611], Weitzman & Palmer in Reis et al. 2003:102 [ref. 27061]). Current status: Synonym of Gasteropelecus sternicla (Linnaeus 1758). Gasteropelecidae. Habitat: freshwater.
