bicolor, Tigoma Girard [C. F.] 1856:206 [42] [Proceedings of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia v. 8; ref. 1810] Klamath Lake, Oregon, U.S.A. Syntypes: USNM 234 (3, plus one pair pharyngeal arches as # 2788). Type catalog: Gilbert 1998:49 [ref. 23395]. Jordan & Evermann 1896:232 [ref. 2443] qualify as first revisers, selecting Tigoma bicolor over Cheonda coerulea (see Bailey & Uyeno 1964:238 [ref. 23390]). Bailey & Uyeno 1964:238 [ref. 23390] serve as first revisers selecting Algansea bicolor over Tigoma bicolor only when both are in Gila; therefore, Cheonda coerulea was reinstated. As this name was used as valid for more than 50 years, it is now retained even when in Klamathella for the sake of stability. •Synonym of Gila coerulea (Girard 1856) -- (Bailey & Uyeno 1964:239 [ref. 23390], Gilbert 1998:49 [ref. 23395], Nelson et al. 2004:70 [ref. 27807]). Current status: Synonym of Gila coerulea (Girard 1856). Leuciscidae: Laviniinae. Habitat: freshwater.

coerulea, Cheonda Girard [C. F.] 1856:207 [43] [Proceedings of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia v. 8; ref. 1810] Lost River, Oregon, U.S.A. Holotype (unique): USNM 237 (plus pharyngeal arches as #2790). Type catalog: Gilbert 1998:61 [ref. 23395]. On p. 43 of separate. Clearly spelled "oe" in text and index [see "ae" spelling for other species in same work]. •Valid as Klamathella coerulea (Girard 1856) -- (Smith et al. 2002: 211 [ref. 36187], Tan & Armbruster 2018:18 [ref. 36121]). •Valid as Gila coerulea (Girard 1856) -- (Lee et al. 1980:162 [ref. 22416], Page & Burr 1991:76 [ref. 18983], Gilbert 1998:61-62 [ref. 23395], Fuller et al. 1999:74 [ref. 25838], Moyle 2002:128 [ref. 26449], Nelson et al. 2004:70 [ref. 27807], Scharpf 2005:18 [ref. 28940], Page et al. 2013:71 [ref. 32708], Page et al. 2023:70 [ref. 40505]).
