Secondarily preoccupied in Glandulocauda by Hyphessobrycon melanopleurus Ellis 1911; replaced by Glandulocauda caerulea Menezes & Weitzman 2009. Valid as Mimagoniates melanopleura (Eigenmann 1911) -- (Schultz 1959:11 [ref. 39721]). •Valid as Glandulocauda melanopleura Eigenmann 1911 -- (Menezes & Weitzman 1990:384 [ref. 16172], López et al. 2002:59 [ref. 26808], Menezes et al. 2008:38 [ref. 31161], Thomaz et al. 2015:Add.5 [ref. 33893]). •Synonym of Glandulocauda caerulea Menezes & Weitzman 2009 -- (Menezes & Weitzman 2009:317 [ref. 30495]). 2°Homonym. Not the same as Glandulocauda melanopleura Eigenmann 1911.
