Now in different genera, so Acentrogobius herrei Koumans 1940 is an unnecessary replacement name. •Synonym of Aulopareia koumansi (Herre 1937) -- (Parenti 2021:97 [ref. 38603], Larson & Jaafar 2022:501 [ref. 39363]). koumansi, Acentrogobius Norman [J. R.] 1935:17, Figs. 7-8 [Discovery Reports v. 12; ref. 13911] Off St. Paul de Loanda, Angola. Holotype: not separated. Paratypes (? incl. holotype): BMNH 1935.5.11.155-181 (26), IRSNB [ex BMNH] 45 (1). Type information: Walschaerts 1987:45 [ref. 20755]. Koumans 1940 [ref. 2676] recognized Obtortiophagus koumansi Whitley 1933, Gnatholepis koumansi Herre 1937 and Acentrogobius koumansi Norman 1935 were homonyms when all were in Acentrogobius, so he replaced both junior names. Now in different genera, Acentrogobius normani is an unneeded replacement name for Norman's species. •Valid as Lesueurigobius koumansi (Norman 1935) -- (Miller 1990:940 [ref. 19376], Schliewen 2011:218 [ref. 31738], Miller & Murdy in Carpenter & De Angelis 2016:2840 [ref. 34618], Parenti 2021:192 [ref. 38603], Fermon et al. 2022:224 [ref. 39448]). 2°Homonym. T.] in Herre & Myers 1937:39, Pl. 1 [Bulletin of the Raffles Museum No. 13; ref. 2123] Malacca Straits, 100 miles west of Singapore, off the northern coast of Sumatra, Indonesia. Holotype (unique): CAS-SU 30959. Type catalog: Koumans 1940:152 [ref. 2676], Böhlke 1953:113 [ref. 12291]. Koumans 1940 [ref. 2676] recognized Obtortiophagus koumansi Whitley 1933, Gnatholepis koumansi Herre 1937 and Acentrogobius koumansi Norman 1935 were homonyms when all were in Acentrogobius, so he replaced both junior names. Subjectively invalid. Now in different genera, Acentrogobius herrei Koumans 1940:152 [ref. 2676] is an unneeded replacement name for Herre's species. •A species of the genus Aulopareia -- (Randall & Greenfield 2001:1 [ref. 25675], Larson & Buckle 2012:5 [ref. 32272]). •Valid as Aulopareia koumansi (Herre 1937) -- (Larson & Murdy 2001:3595 [ref. 26293], Larson & Jaafar 2022:501 [ref. 39363], Parenti 2021:97 [ref. 38603]). 2°Homonym. Current status: Valid as Aulopareia koumansi (Herre 1937). Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. Habitat: brackish, marine.
