Holotype (unique): IFAN. •Valid as Marcusenius deboensis (Daget 1954) -- (Gosse 1984:82 [ref. 6169], Bigorne in Lévêque et al. 1990:148 [ref. 21589], Lévèque et al. 1991:138 [ref. 31367] as a dubius species, Kramer & Wink 2013:8 [2334] [ref. 32824]). Current status: Valid as Marcusenius deboensis (Daget 1954). Mormyridae. Distribution: West-central Africa. Habitat: freshwater.

pfaffi, Gnathonemus Fowler [H. W.] 1958:8 [Notulae Naturae (Philadelphia) No. 310; ref. 1470] Kabara, Mali, West Africa, Niger. Holotype: ZMUC P21177. Replacement name for Gnathonemus elongatus Pfaff 1933, secondarily preoccupied by Mormyrus elongatus Rüppell 1832 when treated as congeneric. •Synonym of Marcusenius senegalensis (Steindachner 1870), but a valid subspecies -- (Daget 1984:89 [ref. 6170], Lévèque et al. 1991:138 [ref. 31367]). Replacement Name. Current status: Synonym of Marcusenius senegalensis (Steindachner 1870). Mormyridae. Habitat: freshwater.
