Current status: Valid as Gobiodon prolixus Winterbottom & Harold 2005. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Red Sea; Indo-West Pacific: Comoros, Madagascar and Mascarenes (Rodrigues) east to Tuamotu Islands (French Polynesia), south to northern Australia. Habitat: marine.
