Paratypes: whereabouts unknown. Original genus should have been Porichthys. •Valid as Halophryne queenslandiae (De Vis 1882) -- (Paxton et al. 1989:272 [ref. 12442], Kuiter 1993:45 [ref. 23929], Greenfield 1998:699 [ref. 23421], Greenfield 1999:2002 [ref. 24764], Johnson 1999:723 [ref. 25471], Greenfield et al. 2008:684 [ref. 30046]). Current status: Valid as Halophryne queenslandiae (De Vis 1882). Batrachoididae: Halophryninae. Distribution: Australia. Habitat: brackish, marine.
