Type catalog: Blanc & Hureau 1968:52 [ref. 20738] with 7155 as holotype; based on literature sources and one specimen; MNHN 7155 designated lectotype by Eschmeyer 1998:1679 [ref. 23416]. Apparently based on Cottus hemilepidotus Tilesius and Cottus trachurus Pallas. Type information: Svetovidov 1978:24 [ref. 6025] with 7155 as holotype. •Synonym of Hemilepidotus hemilepidotus (Tilesius 1811) -- (Bolin 1944:17 [ref. 6379], Peden 1979:24 [ref. 24080], Parin et al. 2002:S76 [ref. 28300], Parin et al. 2014:250 [ref. 33547]).
