Capellaria Gistel [J.] 1848:VIII [Naturgeschichte des Thierreichs; ref. 1822] Fem. Lophius commersonianus Lacepède 1798. Type by being a replacement name. Apparently a replacement for Chironectes of Cuvier and authors, preoccupied by Chironectes Illiger in Mammalia. Also in Rafinesque 1815:92 [ref. 3584] as name only. Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Chironectes Illiger 1811 in mammals, replaced by Batrachopus Goldfus 1820. Cheironectes and Chironectus are incorrect subsequent spellings. •Synonym of Histrio Fischer 1813 -- (Pietsch 1984:37 [ref. 5380], Lindberg et al. 1997:221 [ref. 23547], Pietsch & Arnold 2020:174 [ref. 38284]). 1°Homonym.
