Current status: Valid as Hyporhamphus balinensis (Bleeker 1858). Hemiramphidae. Distribution: Red Sea; Indo-West Pacific: East Africa, Seychelles, Mozambique Channel and Madagascar east to Tuamotu Archipelago (French Polynesia), north to Philippines, south to northwestern Australia and New Caledonia.
