P.] 1938:517, Figs. 1-2 [Trudy Gidrobiologicheskoi Ekspeditsii Zoologicheskogo instituta AN SSSR No. 1; ref. 19731] Okhotsk Sea, southeastern Kamchatka, Russia, 52°33.3'N, 154°54'E, depth 185-195 meters. Holotype: ZIN 24470 (185 mm). Paratypes: ZIN 24470 (1, with holotype), 27962 (2), 27969 (3). Appeared first as a nomen nudum in Andriashev 1937:301[not researched]. •Synonym of Icelus spiniger Gilbert 1896 -- (Nelson 1984:24 [ref. 5391], Sheiko & Fedorov 2000:28 [ref. 25650], Parin et al. 2002:S78 [ref. 28300], Parin et al. 2014:257 [ref. 33547]). Lectotype: ?USNM 164258. Paralectotypes: BMNH 1900.7.11.7 (1?); MCZ 28270 (3); MNHN 1896-0484 to 0486 [ex USNM] (3); CAS-SU 2231 (40), 2266 (2), 2269 (16); ZMUO J1463 (3, poor condition). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:130 [ref. 12291], Blanc & Hureau 1968:54 [ref. 20738], Pethon 1969:8 [ref. 19268].
