Current status: Synonym of Ilisha megaloptera (Swainson 1839). Pristigasteridae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.

Hamilton's unpublished figure reproduced in Gray 1834, v. 2, Pl. 91 (figs. 3-4); also reproduced by Britz 2019:Pl. 141 [ref. 37532]. •Questionably the same as Ilisha megaloptera (Swainson 1838) -- (Whitehead 1985:270 [ref. 5141], Talwar & Jhingran 1991:120 [ref. 20764], Kottelat 2013:50 [ref. 32989]). •Valid as Clupanodon motius Hamilton 1822 -- (Ataur Rahman 1989:253 [ref. 24860]). •Synonym of Ilisha megaloptera (Swainson 1839) -- (Munroe et al. 1999:1764 [ref. 24728], Ataur Rahman 2003:277 [ref. 31338]). Current status: Synonym of Ilisha megaloptera (Swainson 1839). Pristigasteridae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.

Zool. ii. pl. f.3 -- which is Gray 1834 [ref. 1878]. •Questionably a synonym of Ilisha megaloptera (Swainson 1838) -- (Whitehead 1985:270 [ref. 5141]). Current status: Uncertain as Ilisha megaloptera (Swainson 1839). Pristigasteridae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.

russellii, Pellona Bleeker [P.] 1852:23 [Verhandelingen van het Bataviaasch Genootschap van Kunsten en Wetenschappen. v. 24 (8); ref. 16826] Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaja, Pasuruan; Kammal, Tandjong, Madurae Island, Indonesia. Lectotype: BMNH 1867.11.28.13. Syntypes: (3) RMNH 7493 (1 or more of 4). Also appeared in Bleeker 1852:72 [ref. 16832], earliest not established but 1852:23 is cited in ref. 16832. •Synonym of Ilisha megaloptera (Swainson 1838) -- (Whitehead 1985:270 [ref. 5141]). Current status: Synonym of Ilisha megaloptera (Swainson 1839). Pristigasteridae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
