Rocha et al. 2008:921 [ref. 29817] referred Inermia vittata to the genus Haemulon, and suggested that Emmelichthyops is unrelated and tentatively belongs in the Emmelichthyidae. •Should provisionally be placed in the Emmelichthyidae -- (Rocha et al. 2008:924 [ref. 29817]). •Almost certainly belongs in the family Haemulidae -- (W.
