Paratypes: FSJF, ZM-CBSU. •Valid as Iranocichla persa Esmaeili, Sayyadzadeh & Seehausen 2016 -- (Esmaeili et al. 2017:88 [ref. 35254], Esmaeili et al. 2018:70 [ref. 36089], Çiçek et al. 2024:330 [ref. 40789]). •Synonym of Iranocichla hormuzensis Coas 1982 -- (Jouladeh-Roudbar et al. 2020:253 [ref. 37983]). Current status: Synonym of Iranocichla hormuzensis Coad 1982. Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Middle East: Shur, Hasanlangi and Minab river drainages flowing to the Persian Gulf at the Strait of Hormuz (Iran) [if valid]. Habitat: freshwater.
