Holotype: USNM 74459. Paratypes: BMNH 1900.9.29.177 [from Jordan] (1); CAS-SU 22490 (47); USNM 49578 (1), 75356-59 (38, 2, 22, 27), 75360-63 (20, 39, 24, 41), 75683 (3). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:32 [ref. 12291], Gilbert 1998:42 [ref. 23395]. Many of the paratypes are hybrids between Lavinia exilicauda and Hesperoleucas symmetricus (see Gilbert 1998:42 [ref. 23395]). SU 22490 has 47 specimens, not 12 as listed in Gilbert 1998:42. •Synonym of Lavinia exilicauda Baird & Girard 1854, subspecies harengus Girard 1856 -- (Gilbert 1998:42 [ref. 23395], Page & Burr 2011:158 [ref. 31215]). Current status: Synonym of Lavinia exilicauda Baird & Girard 1854. Leuciscidae: Laviniinae. Distribution: Pajaro and Salinus rivers, California [this subspecies]. Habitat: freshwater.
