Thought to be preoccupied by Lepidotrigla longipinnis [but actually longispinis] Steindachner & Döderlein 1887, incorrectly replaced by Lepidotrigla riggsi Richards & Saksena 1977:211 [ref. 5285]. •Synonym of Lepidotrigla spilopterus Günther 1880 -- (Dor 1984:89 [ref. 29757]). •Synonym of Lepidotrigla riggsi Richards & Saksena 1977 -- (Richards 1992:62 [ref. 20654]). •Valid as Lepidotrigla longipinnis Alcock 1890 -- (Manilo & Bogorodsky 2003:S103 [ref. 27377], Gomon & Psomadakis 2018:68 [ref. 35752], Gomon & Kawai 2018:631 [ref. 36285], Psomadakis et al. 2020:368 [ref. 37272], Richards 2022:608 [ref. 39730]).
