Current status: Valid as Leporellus pictus (Kner 1858). Anostomidae. Distribution: South America: upper Paraná and São Francisco River basins (Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia and Paraguay). No types found. •Based on Leporinus vittatus of Steindachner 1880:71 (not Valenciennes 1850). •Synonym of Leporellus vittatus (Valenciennes 1850) -- (Garavello & Britski in Reis et al. 2003:73 [ref. 27061]). Current status: Synonym of Leporellus vittatus (Valenciennes 1850). Anostomidae. Habitat: freshwater.

Type catalog: Henn 1928:57 [ref. 12305]. Based on Leporellus pictus (non Leporinus pictus Kner) of Lütken from Rio das Velhas. •Synonym of Leporellus vittatus (Valenciennes 1850) -- (Taphorn 1992:36 [ref. 23654], Garavello & Britski in Reis et al. 2003:73 [ref. 27061]). •Synonym of Leporellus pictus (Kner 1858) -- (Mirande & Koerber 2015:13 [ref. 35117]). Current status: Synonym of Leporellus pictus (Kner 1858). Anostomidae. Habitat: freshwater.

Based on two specimens, the other syntype is probably lost.
