Paratypes: AMNH 91084-87 (?1, 2, 1, 1), 91113 (14); ANSP 135787 (3), 135914 (2), 159335 (1), 149455 (1); MZUSP 14443-45 (1, 3, 7). •Valid as Leporinus ortomaculatus Garavello 2000 -- (Garavello & Britski in Reis et al. 2003:77 [ref. 27061], Sidlauskas & Mol 2011:[7] [ref. 31287], Burns et al. 2014:213 [ref. 33354], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:40 [ref. 35633]). Current status: Valid as Leporinus ortomaculatus Garavello 2000. Anostomidae. Distribution: Negro and Orinoco River basins: Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela. Habitat: freshwater.
