Unneeded substitute for Lota phycis Temminck & Schlegel 1846 and takes the same type specimens. •Objective synonym of Lotella phycis (Temminck & Schlegel 1846) -- (Paxton et al. 2006:612 [ref. 28995]). Current status: Synonym of Lotella phycis (Temminck & Schlegel 1846). Moridae. Habitat: marine.

schuettei, Lotella Steindachner [F.] 1866:52 [Anzeiger der Kaiserlichen Akademie der Wissenschaften, Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftlichen Classe v. 3 (no. 7); ref. 20460] Port Jackson, New South Wales, Australia. Syntypes: (2) not found at NMW. Appeared first in the abstract as above, then in Steindachner 1866:466, Pl. 3 (fig. 1) [ref. 4210]; also on p. 43 of separate. •Valid as Lotella schuettei Steindachner 1866 -- (Kuiter 1993:59 [ref. 23929]). •Synonym of Lotella phycis (Temminck & Schlegel 1846) -- (Paulin 1983:100 [ref. 5459] as schuetti, Paxton et al. 1989:301 [ref. 12442], Paxton et al. 2006:612 [ref. 28995]).
