Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Lycodes concolor Gill & Townsend 1897, replaced by Austrolycichthys dolloi Andriashev & Fedorov 1986. Described as new again in Roule 1913:19, Pl. 2 (fig. 3), Pl. 3 (fig. 6) [ref. 3815]. •Valid as Austrolycichthys concolor (Roule & Despax 1911) -- (Pequeño 1989:48 [ref. 14125]). •Synonym of Ophthalmolycus amberensis (Tomo, Marschoff & Torno 1977) -- (Anderson 1988:82 [ref. 7304], Anderson 1990:273 [ref. 21695], Miller 1993:655 [ref. 21297], Anderson & Fedorov 2004:33 [ref. 27603], Balushkin et al. 2011:1019 [ref. 32449]). 1°Homonym. Replacement name for Lycodes concolor Roule & Despax 1911, preoccupied by Lycodes concolor Gill & Townsend 1897; however, an older synonym, Lycenchelys ambererensis Tomo, Marschoff & Torno 1977, was available. •Synonym of Ophthalmolycus amberensis (Tomo, Marschoff & Torno 1977) -- (Anderson 1988:82 [ref. 7304], Anderson 1990:273 [ref. 21695], Anderson & Fedorov 2004:33 [ref. 27603]). Replacement Name. Current status: Synonym of Ophthalmolycus amberensis (Tomo, Marschoff & Torno 1977). Zoarcidae: Lycodinae. Habitat: marine.
