Original genus should have been spelled Tetraodon. •Valid as Marilyna darwinii (Castelnau 1873) -- (Allen & Swainston 1988:156 [ref. 25477], Allen 1997:248 [ref. 23977], Larson & Williams 1997:376 [ref. 23967], Ebert 2001:76 [ref. 25494], Hutchins 2001:48 [ref. 25847], Hoese et al. 2006:1922 [ref. 29099], Larson et al. 2013:238 [ref. 32988]). Current status: Valid as Marilyna darwinii (Castelnau 1873). Tetraodontidae. Distribution: Australia and new Guinea. Habitat: brackish, marine.

Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Tetrodon fasciatus Bloch & Schneider 1801. Original genus should have been spelled Tetraodon. •Synonym of Marilyna darwinii (Castelnau 1873) -- (Larson & Williams 1997:376 [ref. 23967], Ebert 2001:91 [ref. 25494], Hoese et al. 2006:1922 [ref. 29099], Larson et al. 2013:238 [ref. 32988]). 1°Homonym. Current status: Synonym of Marilyna darwinii (Castelnau 1873). Tetraodontidae. Habitat: brackish, marine.
