Type catalog: Zarske 2003:21 [ref. 27474]. •Valid as Microcharacidium geryi Zarske 1997 -- (Buckup in Reis et al. 2003:88 [ref. 27061] but incertae sedis in Crenuchidae, Barriga Salazar 2014:106 [ref. 35745]). •Valid as Characidium geryi (Zarske 1997) -- (Melo et al. 2016:[6] [ref. 34807], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:20 [ref. 39298], Buckup 2024:298 [ref. 40817]). Current status: Valid as Characidium geryi (Zarske 1997). Crenuchidae: Characidiinae. Distribution: South America: upper Amazon basin (Peru and Ecuador). Habitat: freshwater.
