Holotype: AMNH 8363. •Synonym of Misgurnus mizolepis Günther 1888, but a valid subspecies as described -- (Menon 1992:52 [ref. 23970]). •Synonym of Misgurnus anguillicaudatus (Cantor 1842) -- (Chen 1981:28 [ref. 8242], Chen in Kuang et al. 1986:147 [ref. 26639], Ye in Pan et al. 1991:255 [ref. 23876], Kottelat 2012:35 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2013:181 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Misgurnus anguillicaudatus (Cantor 1842). Cobitidae. Habitat: freshwater.
