Holotype: NRM 10653. •Synonym of Misgurnus mizolepis Günther 1888, but a valid subspecies as described -- (Mai 1978:227 [ref. 13511]) •Synonym of Misgurnus anguillicaudatus (Cantor 1842) -- (Kottelat 2001:90 [ref. 25780]). •Valid as Misgurnus tonkinensis Rendahl 1937 -- (Kottelat 2012:36 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2013:182 [ref. 32989], Shedko & Vasil'eva 2022:9 [ref. 39201]). Current status: Valid as Misgurnus tonkinensis Rendahl 1937. Cobitidae. Distribution: Northern Vietnam. Habitat: freshwater.
