megalourus, Monacanthus Richardson [J.] 1843:5, Pl. 1 (fig. 3) [Icones piscium, or plates of rare fishes; ref. 6537] 180 miles farther to the southward of Houtman Abrolhos, Indian Ocean, Western Australia. No types known. •Synonym of Monacanthus chinensis (Osbeck 1765) -- (Hutchins 1977:56 [ref. 2283] as megaluris, Allen et al. 2006:1891 [ref. 29098]). Current status: Synonym of Monacanthus chinensis (Osbeck 1765). Monacanthidae. Habitat: marine.
