Holotype: MRAC 140929. Paratypes: MRAC 140930-33 (4). •Valid as Mormyrops bougouribaensis Roman 1966 -- (Gosse 1984:92 [ref. 6169]). •Synonym of Mormyrops breviceps Steindachner 1894 -- (Bigorne 1987:151 [ref. 20556], Bigorne in Lévêque et al. 1990:156 [ref. 21589], Paugy et al. 1990:337 [ref. 26477], Lévèque et al. 1991:138 [ref. 31367]). Current status: Synonym of Mormyrops breviceps Steindachner 1894. Mormyridae. Habitat: freshwater.
