Spelled hexagonolepus on p. 336 and 337, hexagonolepis on p. 270, on plate caption (p. 313) and in index. Syntypes: SMF 953 (2). •In genus Neolissochilus as spinulosis -- (Rainboth 1985:28 [ref. 5968]). •Synonym of Neolissochilus hexagonolepis (McClelland 1845) -- (Menon 1999:56 [ref. 24904]). •Valid as Neolissochilus spinulosus (McClelland 1845) -- (Talwar & Jhingran 1991:232 [ref. 20764], Kundu 2000:96 [ref. 25663], Karmakar 2000:28 [ref. 25662], Arunachalam et al. 2017:24 [ref. 35058], Lalramliana et al. 2018:[3] [ref. 35912]).
