Based on description in manuscript by Forster (Johann Reinhold Forster, 1729-1798, German explorer and naturalist of Cook's second voyage). •Valid as Odax pullus (Forster 1801) -- (Gomon & Paxton 1986:40 [ref. 5656], Paulin et al. 1989:209 [ref. 24556], Paulin & Roberts 1992:103 [ref. 24625], Kuiter 2010:68 [ref. 35285], Gomon et al. 2015:1373 [ref. 34207]). Current status: Valid as Odax pullus (Forster 1801). Odacidae. Distribution: Southwestern Pacific: New Zealand EEZ. Habitat: marine.

vittatus, Odax Richardson [J.] & Solander [D. C.] in Richardson 1843:426 [Annals and Magazine of Natural History (New Series) v. 11 (nos 67-8, 71-2); ref. 13395] Mattarukow, New Zealand. Based on Solander's manuscript. Coregonus vittatus and Coregonoides vittatus appear as manuscript names attributed to Solander and Callyodon coregonoides attributed to Parkinson. In Richardson 1844:150 [ref. 20295] Calliodon vittatus is listed as a Solander manuscript name. •Synonym of Odax pullus (Forster 1801) -- (Gomon & Paxton 1986:40 [ref. 5656]).
