Holotype: UMZC [Darwin no. 661] whereabouts unknown. Also in Müller & Troschel 1845:32, Pl. 5 [ref. 3071]. •Nomen dubium in genus Oligosarcus -- (Menezes 1987:32 [ref. 20060]). •Either a synonym of O. hepsetus or O. robustus -- (Menezes in Reis et al. 2003:152 [ref. 27061], Menezes & Camelier 2024:245 [ref. 40817]). •Questionably a synonym of Oligosarcus hepsetus (Cuvier 1829) -- (Litz & Koerber 2014:15 [ref. 33622], Mirande & Koerber 2015:25 [ref. 35117]). Nomen Dubium. Characidae: Stethaprioninae. Habitat: freshwater.
