Current status: Synonym of Omobranchus elongatus (Peters 1855). Blenniidae: Blenniinae. Habitat: brackish, marine.

Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: East Africa (Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya), Oman, Seychelles, Madagascar and western Mascarenes (La Réunion, Mauritius) east to Fiji, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Invasive in Guam and Hawaiian Islands (U.S.A.). Habitat: brackish, marine.

Original genus should have been Petroscirtes. •Valid as Omobranchus kallosoma (Bleeker 1858) -- (Springer 1972:14 [ref. 4178]). •Synonym of Omobranchus elongatus (Peters 1855) -- (Springer & Gomon 1975:28 [ref. 6083], Smith-Vaniz 1976:149 [ref. 4144], Kottelat 2013:383 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Omobranchus elongatus (Peters 1855). Blenniidae: Blenniinae. Habitat: brackish, marine.
