Current status: Synonym of Omobranchus elongatus (Peters 1855). Blenniidae: Blenniinae. Habitat: brackish, marine.

Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: East Africa (Mozambique, Tanzania, Kenya), Oman, Seychelles, Madagascar and Mascarenes (Mauritius) east to Fiji, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Invasive in Guam and Hawaiian Islands (U.S.A.). Habitat: brackish, marine.

Original genus should have been Petroscirtes. •Valid as Omobranchus kallosoma (Bleeker 1858) -- (Springer 1972:14 [ref. 4178]). •Synonym of Omobranchus elongatus (Peters 1855) -- (Springer & Gomon 1975:28 [ref. 6083], Smith-Vaniz 1976:149 [ref. 4144], Kottelat 2013:383 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Omobranchus elongatus (Peters 1855). Blenniidae: Blenniinae. Habitat: brackish, marine.
