Current status: Synonym of Oncorhynchus virginalis (Girard 1856). Salmonidae: Salmoninae. Distribution: Upper South Platt and Arkansas river systems: Colorado and historically southeastern Wyoming, U.S.A. [subspecies stomias if that name is correct]. Habitat: freshwater.
