Current status: Valid as Ophichthus machidai McCosker, Ide & Endo 2012. Ophichthidae: Ophichthinae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Bay of Bengal, India, Vietnam, Taiwan and Japan. Habitat: marine.
