MNHN 1688 was designated lectotype by Eschmeyer 1998:1653 [ref. 23416] which made P. tartoor an objective synonym of P. tardoore (Cuvier 1829). •Synonym of Opisthopterus tardoore (Cuvier 1829) -- (Whitehead 1985:294 [ref. 5141], Munroe et al. 1999:1767 [ref. 24728], Kottelat 2013:51 [ref. 32989]).
