Perhaps a holotype can be established based on information presented in the original description. •Valid as Orestias silustani Allen 1942 -- (Parenti 1984:181 [ref. 5359], Ortega & Vari 1986:19 [ref. 9708], Lazara 2001:241 [ref. 25711], Costa in Reis et al. 2003:553 [ref. 27061], Esmaeili et al. 2018:22 [ref. 36738]). Current status: Valid as Orestias silustani Allen 1942. Cyprinodontidae: Orestiinae. Distribution: Lake Titicaca basin, Peru. Habitat: freshwater.
