Paratypes: FSKU 731013-01 a-d; ZUMT 52988 (1), 52990 (1). •Valid as Apogon ishigakiensis Ida & Moyer 1974 -- (Hayashi in Masuda et al. 1984:148 [ref. 6441], Nakabo 2000:774 [ref. 25086], Nakabo 2002:774 [ref. 26001], Fraser 2006:140 [ref. 28665]). •Valid as Ostorhinchus ishigakiensis (Ida & Moyer 1974) -- (Mabuchi et al. 2014:200 [ref. 33426], Mabuchi et al. 2015:44 [ref. 34429], Koeda et al. 2016:33 [ref. 35333]). Current status: Valid as Ostorhinchus ishigakiensis (Ida & Moyer 1974). Apogonidae: Apogoninae. Distribution: Western Pacific. Habitat: marine.
