Appeared first as above, then in Kamohara 1935:134, Fig. 3 [ref. 2549]. •In genus Sphenanthias -- (Liao et al. 2009:522 [ref. 30453]). •Valid as Owstonia tosaensis Kamohara 1934 -- (Machida in Masuda et al. 1984:201 [ref. 6441], Mok 1988:507 [ref. 12752], Mohsin & Ambak 1996:536 [ref. 27969], Imai in Randall & Lim 2000:625 [ref. 25122], Nakabo 2000:914 [ref. 25182], Shinohara et al. 2001:327 [ref. 25995], Nakabo 2002:914 [ref. 26193], Endo et al. 2015:[7] [ref. 33765], Smith-Vaniz & Johnson 2016:89 [ref. 34879], Liao et al. 2022:129 [ref. 39628]). Current status: Valid as Owstonia tosaensis Kamohara 1934. Cepolidae: Owstoniinae. Distribution: Japan, Taiwan, Philippines and Western Australia. Habitat: marine.
