Current status: Valid as Oxyporhamphus bruuni Parin, Collette & Shcherbachev 1980. Hemiramphidae. Distribution: Red Sea; northwestern Indian Ocean: Gulf of Aden east to northwestern India. Paralectotypes: ZMA 109671 (2). Type catalog: Nijssen et al. 1982:68 [ref. 19236]. Original genus is correctly Hemiramphus.
