Current status: Valid as Paracallionymus costatus (Boulenger 1898). Callionymidae. Distribution: Southeastern Atlantic and western Indian Ocean: Lüderitz (Namibia) south to Cape of Good Hope (South Africa), then north to Maputo (Mozambique). Habitat: marine.
