Paralectypes: RMNH 5949 (1). Not the same as Percis tetracanthus (Lacepède 1801). Parapercis quadrispinosa (Weber 1813) apparently is a replacement name. Lectotype selected by Johnson & White 2012:59 [ref. 31991]. •Synonym of Parapercis clathrata Ogilby 1910 -- (Johnson & White 2012:58 [ref. 31991]). Current status: Synonym of Parapercis clathrata Ogilby 1910. Pinguipedidae. Habitat: marine.
